Houston Methodist is looking for experienced audit professionals, an Internal Audit Specialist and a Senior Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit team and contribute to our mission of unparalleled excellence in healthcare. These positions play a key role in supporting organizational integrity, compliance, and operational effectiveness. Both roles support Houston Methodist’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
The Internal Audit Specialist requires a minimum of six years of internal auditing, accounting, public accounting or healthcare operations experience. It offers the opportunity to lead complex audits, oversee audit teams, and contribute to departmental standards and training. The Specialist is one step above the Senior Internal Auditor role and provides for additional growth opportunities. This is a hybrid position, starting with a few days a week in the office moving to more of a remote position with an occasional day in the office. The office is located just outside of the Texas Medical Center. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
Our internal audit department is comprised of 10 professionals, who provide quantifiable, value-added assurance and consulting services by providing an independent appraisal of the organization’s risks and controls. The Internal Audit department has a demonstrated track record of providing professional and career development – several of our auditors have advanced into management and operational roles within Houston Methodist.

Requirements
The Specialist position requires a minimum of six years of internal auditing, accounting, public accounting or healthcare operations experience. Healthcare audit experience is a plus. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills (oral and written). Relevant professional certification is preferred (CPA, CIA, CFE, CHIAP).
