WellMed, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Nocturnist Hospitalist to join our team inAustin, TX. Optum is a clinician-led care organization that is changing the way clinicians work and live.As a member of the Optum Care Delivery team, you'll be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone
Position Highlights
- Hospitalist leads a collaborative and comprehensive health care team
- 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off
- Take care of crossover calls, ER admissions, and transfers at night
- Only follow patients from a single payor system
- 100% of patients will have a WellMed primary care provider
- "Quality vs. Quantity Model" - Typical census per hospitalist is 10 to 13 patients per day
- Patient panel is limited to geriatrics with Medicare Advantage coverage
- Bonus metrics are vastly based on quality

Compensation/Benefits Highlights:
- Base Salary plus Annual Quality Incentive with a target of $15,000

Required Qualifications:
- Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current Licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners OR Licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas State Medical Board
- Valid DEA license
- 1+ year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant
- Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare-aged patient population
- Ability to work 12 hours at night on a regular basis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
- A working understanding and support of a managed care environment
